Accused rapist turns out not to be Tea Party spokesman
Update: He was formally a member of the Sean Diego Tea Party.
At Gateway Pundit:
East County Magazine reported:
Lemon Grove resident Michael John Kobulnicky, 50, a leader in the San Diego Tea Party and former regional director of the Southern California Conservative Party, is under arrest for allegedly kidnapping and raping a local woman on Fiesta Island.
“He dragged her out of the car and sexually assaulted her pretty brutally,” San Diego Police Lt. Andra Brown told ECM news partner 10 News in late February, shortly after the February 25 assault occurred.
On his website, http://www.michaelkobulnickyusa.com, Kobulnicky lists his leadership roles as “currently the co-organizer and public relations representative for the San Diego Tea Party.”
After Kobulnicky’s arrest, the San Diego Tea Party issued a statement indicating that Kobulnicky took leave the group in January for personal reasons and had not been in touch since then, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. He has been removed from his position while the legal process runs its course, the statement said, adding that “”Our hearts and our thoughts go out to the victim.”
Of course, the difference between Kobulnicky and the many occupy rapists is that Kobulnicky was asked to step down while the many liberal sex offenders are welcomed with open arms to the Obama-endorsed #occupy camps… That, and the fact that Kobulnicky committed his crime on an island and the #occupy rapists commit their crimes in the squatter camp tents.
But . . . oh, wait:
The So Cal Tax Revolt Coalition released this statement, via Lipstick Underground. Kobulnicky is not a member, spokesman or volunteer with the group. The whole story was made up by the media.
Go over there and read the whole thing. Fight the smears. Alert Attack Watch.
Hey, did you know John Wayne Gacy was a Democrat ward boss? True story.

Love is a thing that can never go wrong, and We are Marie of Roumania.
According to Fox San Diego per the San Diego TEA Party, he was a member and spokesperson, up until January when he left for personal reasons. I’m not keen on Hoft’s argument that there was a more official TEA Party, but . . . why don’t MSM outlets characterize him as a former spokesperson and member, or an ex-spokesperson? Wouldn’t that be more accurate? Is it to realize savings in pixels?
Reading the guy’s own website, he suffered from delusions of grandeur:
What were the reasons for Kobulnicky’s departure, aside from “personal”? Has anyone asked?
