With $50 And Some Elbow Grease, They Turned A Wardrobe Into Something Special
For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, here’s a great project that’ll keep you busy this weekend — especially if you have small pets. With a thrifted armoire, Redditor Hookedongutes created an incredible palace for their chameleons.
If your little companions could benefit from a bit of remodeling, check out the project below!
First, they picked up an old armoire for $50.
With the help of some relatives, they started by sanding down the entire piece and staining it.
After that, they cut out the glass panels and started working on a drainage system.
The crew then got to work on a light diffuser, some plant boxes, and a few mesh inserts.
The foundation for the background was then added with spray foam.
With some driftwood and supplies from the local pet store, they came up with this incredible habitat.
When all was said and done, their lucky chameleons were left with a gorgeous new home with heat, light, and moisture controls to keep them safe and comfortable.
That’s a pretty awesome transformation, isn’t it?
It’s amazing what you can do when you start reimagining items that you see every day. It takes a creative mind to look at an old piece of furniture and give it new life as something completely unique.
